Learning objectives Design two VRRP groups on one LAN to achieve active/active gateway load sharing. Apply deterministic VRRP election using group priorities and preemption. Validate VRRP state with show vrrp brief and host-side gateway reachability. Explain how clients split across multiple virtual gateways achieve both load distribution and failover. Troubleshooting focus VRRP group number or virtual IP mismatch between routers prevents a common virtual router from forming. Missing or reversed priorities lead to the wrong device as Master. PC default gateway points at a real IP instead of the correct virtual IP. VRRP preemption omitted causes roles to stay stuck after a reload. Access ports not placed in the correct VLAN block host-to-gateway reachability.
