Troubleshooting focus
- If interfaces show administratively down, ensure no shutdown is applied on every configured interface.
- If pings fail, confirm the IPv6 address/prefix on both ends of a link are in the same /64 and typed exactly (watch for :: compression mistakes).
- Ensure ipv6 unicast-routing is enabled on both routers; without it, some IPv6 behaviors and forwarding logic are inactive.
- Verify the host’s default route points to the correct on-link gateway address and that the gateway interface is up with the correct address.
