CCNA Foundations: Grow the Bundle & Spread the Load
Today's daily lab
Daily CCNA campus-redundancy lab focused on EtherChannel scale-out and hashing. Two distribution switches are joined by three parallel trunk links. Two links are already bundled with LACP into a trunking port-channel; the third is a plain trunk currently STP-blocked and wasting capacity. Add the spare link to the existing bundle on both sides and change the global hashing method so multiple flows can actually use multiple member links. End-to-end switching must continue to work for the users VLAN.
Add an additional physical trunk to an existing LACP EtherChannel without breaking VLAN transport
Apply a non-default global EtherChannel hashing method to better distribute flows
Validate EtherChannel member status and hashing method
Confirm end-to-end VLAN connectivity continues to function after changes
Troubleshooting focus
Verify every link's interface status and IP addressing (`show ip interface brief`) and correct any interface that is down or misaddressed.
Confirm each device's running configuration matches the lab objective, and bring any interface, route, or service that is not in its expected state back to health.
Trace end-to-end reachability with ping/traceroute and isolate the first hop where forwarding fails.
